Rock Star Screenplay

The Misadventures series continues with Helen Hardt's Misadventures with a Rock Star. I am a huge fan of Helen's writing and this book did not disappoint. Jett Draconis is the lead singer and guitarist for the band Emerald Phoenix. He has become tired of the groupie rock star lifestyle, and then after a concert he sees Heather Myles and his world is rocked. Heather is a fan of the band however she is with her room mate at the concert as she is need of a fun night to relieve her boring day to day existence. She is an aspiring screenwriter living in LA while waitressing until she sells something. While she thinks Jett is extremely hot she is not a groupie and at first does not want to be a
one night stand. It was fun to see these two interact and get to know each other. There are secrets and obligations that Jett has to deal with, very sexy steamy HOT love, and the realization that maybe you can have it all if everyone works together. I especially loved the reference to opera singing from Jett, and classical piano for Zane.
The whole Misadventures series has been delightful and this book continues the tradition. Kudos to Helen Hardt for a fast, fun, engaging, super sexy read!!!!!!

I didn’t like Heather from the get go, something about her just bothered me. Jett I lost more respect for the longer I read. I can’t stand books where the H or h is hiding something from their past and someone is holding them hostage to move on from it. Omg just tell the other person what is what and let them decide. Plus whatever it was could be so bad that Alecia (a mid 50 year old heiress) could hold him a sexual prisoner and he was never aloud to care about another woman. Heather was so uptight and then she gave in, fine, but after he gave her the boot because Alecia threatens him and then another groupie convinces her to give Jett a show with her to turn him on, she agrees just to see him again after she was so pissed? That is where I jumped ship. I am not a prude at all just everything felt wrong. When he went to Alecia who was forcing him to have sex with her...yuck. I am in my 50’s, it’s not that, she is just a horrible person. I have liked some of the other books so how much I disliked this one was a surprise.
Helen Hardt never disappoints with the books she writes, and MISADVENTURES WITH A ROCK STAR is another winner. Both Heather Myles and Jett Draconis were characters that I loved with no struggle at all. I didn't find this to be your typical rock star sex escapade, there was a great storyline and a good background plot involving Jett's family.

Heather is an aspiring screenwriter waiting for her big break to come along, so in the meantime she works as a waitress. After work one night, her roommate decides to drag her to an Emerald Phoenix concert, where she later meets singer Jett and the attraction is instant for both. Jett is a rock star with a true heart, his love for his family is obvious, but more so his affections for Heather. Once a player, this man knows when his heart has been captured. Will these two find the happiness that they are both looking for, or will Jett's past come back to haunt him?

There's a little bit of mystery with Jett's brother, an evil woman named Alicia and one great roommate who loves to lead Heather astray. I really loved Jett's fellow band mate, Zane Michaels - I'd love to see a book about him. Overall this was a great story, wonderful characters and some awesome steamy scenes.

Another Misadventure winner. Definitely recommended.

Well...I'm not gonna lie - the opener of this book is a doozy and the sexual antics really don't slow down from there, but considering it is about a rock star, that shouldn't come as much of a surprise. What is a surprise is the instalove that develops between Jett and Heather, as well as the intensity of their relationship from basically the beginning. We meet Jett as he is tiring of the "scene" of over abundant sex, drugs, and overall indulgence. It's then that he meets Heather and is immediately drawn to her and proceeds to pursue her in a way he has never approached a woman before. For her part, I appreciated that Heather was adamant (in the beginning at least) to not be a typical groupie succumbing to Jett's charm. Because of her resistance, she and Jett are able to get to know each other on a deeper level so a connection based on something more than their intense attraction is forged. However, the entirety of the book happens in a matter of a few days, perhaps a week at the most, and A LOT happens. So needless to say, the book is fast paced and fueled by sex (of all kinds) and rock and roll (or the love of music at least). The big baddie in the book is interesting and the resolution to the big drama comes about in a very convenient (and thorough manner). I can 't say that this is among my favorites in the Misadventures series, but it has its own appeal. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.
